As the sun goes down on 2025—
this beautiful pink-and-orange sky, a gentle 50-degree evening—
I’m reflecting on this past year.
This time last year, I never would’ve envisioned my life looking the way it does today. I was still wandering—slowly finding my voice, learning how to sing again. And now, as I carry precious Starlight’s life inside me, I feel a little stronger than I did on this day a year ago.
Through the fire.
Through the grief.
Through the pain and the darkness.
Through the wandering.
Through new friendships that helped me find my song again.
Through the ember that stayed.
Through reconciliation.
Through still-hard, still-honest conversations.
I have found beauty.
I have found my song.
I have found the strength to stand and say no—to people, to patterns, to expectations that pull me under.
I have found the boldness to try new things, even when fear still lingers.
I am learning how to hold healthy boundaries—not to harden my heart, but to protect my peace, and the peace of my family.
I am learning to trust again—slowly.
To revisit the things that once burned me with more wisdom, more care, and less self-betrayal.
To allow growth without rushing healing.
To let becoming be a process.
This year asked more of me than I thought I could give.
And somehow, I’m still here—
still standing,
still singing,
still choosing to move forward with tenderness and courage.
As this year closes, I’m not celebrating perfection.
I’m honoring resilience.
I’m honoring the woman I’ve become through the fire.
And I’m holding space for hope—for what’s still unfolding, for the life I carry, and for the story that isn’t finished yet.
Here’s to the quiet strength it took to get here.
Here’s to the song that returned.
Here’s to what comes next. 🤍✨
